EARMOR M32 HEADSET REVIEW
The battery cap with the spring and contacts
After playing all day with the EARMOR headset and it was a lot better then the last time, but they kept shutting down one in a while.
So I will not recommend u ever spending €110 for a headset with problems.
My experience with the EARMOR M32 electronic hearing communication protector.
After doing some research on divirent headsets my eye fell on the EARMOR M32, this because it amplifies low-level sounds and suppresses noise above 82dBA. The easy of use and it's IXP-5 water resistant property are also nice to have, plus the fact that it uses 2x AAA batterys in an easy location make it a winner on paper in my book.
So I ordered the M32 and the PTT (that also has to be from EARMOR) at a dutch based store, withing a day I was holding my new comms. After a quick check they worked fine so what could go wrong, well a lot can go wrong when you check it quickly.
The first skirm with the EARMOR M32.
The day started with rain, not a lot but enough to wear a poncho for a wile. Putting on al my gear was easy, first the mask then the EARMOR M32 and finally my helmet. Powering on the headset is easy because of the location of the buttens, and the comms check went fine.
There we go in to battle, but after 5 minutes my headset stopt working. Instantly I was deaf and could not hear the people next to me. The communications over the comms still worked, so talking to my team was not a problem.
No matter what button I pushed they would not power on, so I pulled the battery thinking that they were drained. Luckily I had a spare set on me, after switching the headset powered on again. Back up and ready to fight for no more then 2 minutes, again my headset went dead. Now this was pissing me of...........again i pulled my battery and reinserted them, again i powered them back on and yet again they went dead within an few minutes.
To make things worse my friend told me he could barely here me, this was it my blood was boiling at that point. At first everything was fine but no less then 20 minutes in to the game my day was fu..ed.
The first thing I did when i got home was contacting Opsmen, they quickly responded and gave me the advice to contact the store I got them from. The store I got them from send me another headset, they also included an damage report on the old headset. They reported that the microphone was drowned, this by al little drissel not a downpour. They did not find anything else wrong with them, witch was strange because of the problems I was having with them. No worrys I got a new one so......
After testing the new one for no more then 10 minutes I was pissed again, this headset had the same problem as the old one. Bumping it and they went dead, doing nothing and after a wile they went dead. Every time I had to take out the battery and start over, losing the ability to think clearly I put them away.
Few days passed and I started by doing some research on the internet, it seems to be an common problem with the EARMOR M32.
So you pay €110 for an headset that comes with problems, it does not work and can't stand water to well.
Now there is an fix that is easy enough do. At least for mine the fix worked, but I'm still scared to use them when it rains. Witch in my lovely country it luckily does very often.
The fix;
Open the battery compartment, there u see the spring (try to extend it a little) and u will see two little metal strips (battery contacts) pull them slightly upward.
This is it, for me the set is working fine now and I hope it will do so for you!
