The split gearbox by ICS.
One of the mean reasons I went for an ICS model is the split gearbox design, this makes it an easy beginners replica. The ease of changing an spring or even changing an cylinder and it head or piston makes it a winner in my book. The things you are gonna fool around with the most is your upper gearbox, this is where u find your piston, piston head, cylinder, spring and spring guide. And in the lower part of your gearbox you will find you trigger unit and gears, which is connected to your motor.
This is an story about my primary replica, the MARS SBR bye ICS. When I started airsofting with my AUG A3 from APS I realized that it was really heavy, the fact that the rest of my friend where eqiuped with M4 style replicas made me decide to get an M4 model as well. After watching a lot of reviews on YouTube and talking to friends I decided to go for an ICS model, just my luck that the MARS edition was on sale. I decided to go for the SBR (Small Barreled Rifle) for two reasons, 1 being weight reduction 2 being size. I'm an assault kind of player, in the front line is where you will find me. So weight is an factor for moving fast and agile, nobody wants to carry more weight then necessary. Then there is size, a lot of airsofters want an longer barrel for more range and accuracy. This is something I was considering will making my choice, ofcourse I wanted that same range and accuracy. Bye putting in an longer inner barrel and hiding that in an silencer I got the best of both, now I have the same range and accuracy but in an lighter package. I also got the looks I want and the option to quickly change my replica, when I'm gonna play CQB ill change it to the standard size.
